English choreographer Douglas Lee works for the first time at Les Grands Ballets with the creation Earthlings. A graduate of the Royal Ballet School in 1996 and recipient of the Alicia Markova Award, he has collaborated with several great dance companies: New York City Ballet, Perm Opera Ballet Theatre, Nederlands Dans Theater and the Stuttgart Ballet, where he began his career as a dancer.
Earthlings will be on the program of Parlami d’Amore, an evening centered around the universal theme of love, at Théâtre Maisonneuve from May 16 to 25, 2019. The choreographer contrasts his vision of love with that of the stereotypes, the great stories and the symbols traditionally associated with it. The artist’s refined dance style is sure to be one of several highlights in an evening of multiple assembled visions.
